911 Enable’s Emergency Gateway (EGW) appliance has successfully completed interoperability testing with Microsoft Lync. It works with Lync’s inherent E911 capabilities to meet the needs of organizations with certain specific E911 requirements. First, the EGW provides interoperability with the local exchange carrier (LEC) legacy E911 call routing solution. Second, for organizations with Lync deployed alongside other IP phone systems (e.g. Cisco, Avaya), the EGW acts as a Secondary Location Information Server to centralize E911 management in a multi-vendor environment.
