AT&T is helping 9-1-1 agencies upgrade their older 9-1-1 networks to IP technology. AT&T ESInetTM is a new service that provides public safety a state-of-the-art, robust, and flexible network with call routing services for 9-1-1 agencies.
Today, AT&T announced a new nationwide service designed to accelerate the adoption of Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1). According to the announcement, AT&T ESInet will be deployed in collaboration with West Corporation (formerly Intrado) to enable IP-based communications that allow 9-1-1 public safety answering points (PSAPs) to route more detailed information more quickly and receive data such as pictures and video. The solution will be available in the second half of 2016.
